The custom house (Aduana)
|
|
The
custom house was one of the main administrative institutions of the city from
its very beginning. It was built in 1910, next to the spot where the first custom
house stood in the 16th century, in the old dock of San Francisco.
The style of the construction is eclectic. The balconies and the colonial eaves excel along with the lookout towers. In 1916 a cruise-ship terminal was established on its first dock in order to include the city on the Caribbean cruise routes.
