On the corner of Obispo and Mercaderes Streets in the heart of Old Havana, Cuba, stands the Ambos Mundos Hotel, a building of eclectic architecture built in the late 20s.
At the beginning of the thirties, Ernest Hemingway , the American writer, stayed at this hotel and wrote the first chapters of his novel ´For Whom the Bells Toll' because he said... it was a good place to write...Nowadays, the writer's room is kept with his memories, and the restaurant, Plaza de Armas, prepares his favorite meals.
Hotel Ambos Mundos rooms are small but cozy, and the hotel is equipped for everything from meetings to honeymoons. The marvelous Roof Garden at the top floor of the hotel, is qeuiped with an exquisite grill and the best view of the city.
Its downtown location makes it an excellent site from where the Visitor can admire the old part of Old Havana.
